Your new role
Our Hays Sydney office is seeking a full time permanent internal Senior Payroll Officer. This role commences mid January 2025. The Senior Payroll Officer provides a broad range of payroll and benefit services and leverages extensive, policy, procedure and legislative knowledge to deliver a high quality and efficient payroll.
- Provide all payroll services according to the relevant awards and legislative conditions within the organisation.
- Deliver support, fulfil service requests and process transactions within the agreed timeframes to ensure employee records are paid correctly and on time.
- Ensure the timely and efficient running of the 4-weekly and the fortnightly payrolls for both Australia
- Produce payroll related journals
- Reconcile and process Employee Termination payments and redundancies
- Calculate and process commission calculations
- Be the point of contact for all general leave and Parental Leave enquiries and reconcile entitlements according to policies and communicate these effectively
- Review and action employee visa requirements in relation to contracts
- Calculate and submit PAYG for both Australia.
- Provide exceptional customer service and advice and respond to and resolve complex enquiries and issues to ensure the provision of accurate information and the timely and the effective resolution of issues and requests for support.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Demonstrated at least 5 years’ end to end payroll experience and knowledge
- Proven experience working in a high volume and fast paced environment
- Advanced Excel skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to communicate with all levels of the organisation
- High level of confidentiality
- Strong customer service focus
- Be flexible and demonstrate initiative
