JOB SUMMARY – To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The Product Manager – Global Oncology, is expected to provide multi-functional direction and strategic input for the entire Oncology portfolio to further develop global markets through direct-to-patient marketing programs, disease state awareness, customer development, and the execution of tactical plans to operationalize these activities.
This role works collaboratively with communications, finance, supply chain and commercial teams to implement business plans for the Oncology portfolio.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- The management of the Oncology product portfolio over its life cycle to maximize the overall return for the business through the development and execution of business objectives and marketing plans. Ensure compliance with quality systems, regulatory requirements, and commercial processes.
- Identify target markets and customers, collect VoC (Voice of customer), establish a clear competitive advantage, and generate evidence, develop product value proposition messaging, lead marketing communication and promotional activities for physicians and patients.
- Develop specialized knowledge of latest commercial developments in Interventional Radiology, Surgical Oncology and Urology. Contribute towards strategy development and provide input into Long Term Strategy of the portfolio.
- Lead the commercial input into business functions including new feature definition, cost and quality metrics and customer responses and feedback.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of best practices and working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate Oncology products in the market.
- Identify, develop plans, and implement initiatives to grow the Global Oncology product portfolio, improve customer satisfaction, optimize financials (margin, cost, revenue) and improve efficiency of product delivery.
- Define and measure Global Oncology portfolio/product performance metrics to align to business level goals and objectives.
- Tactical management of product installed base & fulfillment of existing products to meet customer demand and delivery expectations.
- Use technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Use multiple internal and external sources (e.g. market research) to arrive at decisions.
- May perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS –The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s Level of Degree in the Marketing or related field of study
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience in sales/marketing
- MBA preferred
- Medical Device experience preferred
Skills/Knowledge
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to present effectively in front of large groups is essential.
- Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter able to work well within the group environment. Must have an entrepreneurial spirit and be able to excel in a team environment.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced, demanding environment.
- Demonstrated project management skills and highly developed communication skills at all levels of the organization.
- Must feel comfortable challenging current thinking and be flexible to adapt to changing requirements and priorities.
- Proficient in the following computer software applications: Microsoft Office
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate both internally and externally.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance. instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- This position requires some travel up to 20% of the time
