Job Overview

We are seeking a Founding Frontend Engineer to lead the visual and interactive development of the Muses platform. This role combines creativity and technical expertise—an opportunity to shape the look, feel, and functionality of a platform that will serve as a digital home for thousands of college students and brands.

We want someone with a sharp eye for quirky, cinematic visuals, a passion for the ironic, and a deep understanding of what makes Gen-Z tick.

Key Responsibilities

• Visual Identity Creation: Develop a bold and cohesive visual identity for Muses, embracing a scrapbook-inspired aesthetic filled with doodles, icons, and playful elements.
• Platform Design Leadership: Lead the design and front-end development of platform elements such as user onboarding flows, dashboards, search tools, and campaign management interfaces.
• Frontend Development: Code your designs into functional and responsive components using modern front-end technologies (React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript).
• Marketing Pages: Design and build visually engaging landing pages that capture the energy of Muses and attract both students and brands.
• Design System Management: Create and maintain a comprehensive design system to ensure visual consistency as the platform scales.
• Prototype and Iterate: Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs, implementing feedback from user testing and internal reviews.
• Trend Integration: Stay updated with Gen-Z design trends, humor, and culture to ensure Muses remains fresh, relevant, and appealing.
• User-Centric Design: Optimize the platform for college students’ specific needs through user research and usability testing.

Qualifications

• Experience: 2-5 years of experience as a UI/UX designer and/or front-end engineer, with a focus on projects targeting Gen-Z audiences. Experience with early-stage startups is a plus.
• Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing playful, interactive, and visually immersive web projects. Examples of scrapbook-style or doodle-centric designs are highly encouraged.
• Technical Skills:
• Design tools: Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite.
• Front-end: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React (or similar frameworks).
• Gen-Z Insight: Deep familiarity with Gen-Z aesthetics, humor, and cultural trends—you know what captures their attention.

Note: This role requires availability primarily during EST/PST hours (6:00 PM – 5:00 AM IST). Please apply only if you can commit to these hours.
