The Senior Construction Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale construction projects. This role involves managing project teams, budgets, timelines, and client relationships while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The Senior Project Manager will serve as the main point of contact for clients and stakeholders, ensuring project objectives are met efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects from start to finish, ensuring they meet scope, budget, and timeline requirements.
- Team Management: Oversee and mentor project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors. Coordinate resources and ensure efficient team performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Budget & Cost Control: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring effective cost control and timely reporting. Handle change orders, pricing, and contract negotiations.
- Scheduling: Create and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring that milestones and deadlines are met. Proactively address any potential delays or disruptions.
- Client & Stakeholder Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their needs, concerns, and ensuring satisfaction. Foster strong relationships with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, including safety concerns, quality issues, and delays. Implement corrective actions as needed.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company safety standards. Oversee site safety programs and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor and enforce quality standards throughout the construction process, ensuring that work meets company, client, and regulatory expectations.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, permits, RFIs, and change orders. Provide regular progress reports to senior leadership and clients.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in construction project management, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership role overseeing large-scale projects.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and processes.
- Expertise in project scheduling, budgeting, and cost management.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, Microsoft Project).
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Work Environment:
- Location: Primarily office-based with frequent site visits to construction locations.
- Travel: Occasional travel to project sites may be required.
- Schedule: Standard workweek with flexibility for project demands, including occasional extended hours or weekends to meet deadlines.
