Due to continuing expansion, Payslip is looking for a driven and talented Internal Audit & Controls Expert to join our Governance & Compliance team.

The Internal Audit & Controls Expert (Compliance) will support the VP Data Protection & Governance to lead the design, implementation and management of key projects and program of work. The successful applicant will have a key role in the implementation, maintenance and audit of various organizational and technological controls in the field of information security and data protection in a regulatory and risk management environment.

Part of the role is to ensure operational excellence by maintaining a robust internal control framework, assessing and enhancing internal control systems

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and further develop the PIMS and Data Protection Toolkit in terms of up-to-date policies and procedures and communication to the organization regarding them
• Participate in the ISO and SOC audit preparations and audits under the leadership of the VP Data Protection & Governance – internal and external communication, preparing for the audits
• Collaborate effectively with external and internal parties to ensure compliance and operational efficiency
• Maintaining records where relevant – organize the process around records maintaining and monitor the process, making sure the necessary records are in place
• Risks Assessment – maintaining the Risk register and conducting the necessary assessments
• Conduct the necessary number of internal audits as per the agreed Internal audit programme and follow up with the relevant corrective actions until closed
• Support the VP Data Protection & Governance and the Senior Project and Governance Manager in the planning, preparation, co-ordination, implementation and review of key projects
• Participate in the existing governance processes, delivery of governance reviews and relevant audit requirements
• Similar work as required for the business from time to time
• Facilitate and provide input to the Client Information Security Questionnaires of existing Clients, prospects, existing and future vendors
• Facilitate and log eventual Data Breach related mitigations across the Organization

Key Skills & Experience:

• Over 2 years in a similar role – ISO internal auditor, information security specialist, data protection specialist, etc
• Experience with ISO 27001 or other similar ISO standards, SOC audits, or other similar frameworks (certificates for training are a strong advantage)
• Experience with data protection management frameworks and dealing with data breach situations
• Demonstrable project planning and management experience
• Experience in working in multi-national environment and/or delivering multi-locational projects is an advantage
• Technology background and understanding of IT Systems is an advantage
• Educated to degree level
• Well-developed listening and questioning techniques, supported by strong analytical skills and organizational abilities
• Strong English language skills
