What’s the purpose of the role?
The Creative Project Manager reports to the Director of Project Management. Their primary responsibility is to impress clients by effectively taking in, developing, and delivering beautiful and practical creative outputs that fulfill client needs. They will cultivate strong relationships and collaborate with clients, creative teams, and other project managers to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and exceed client expectations, all while maintaining Ghost Sherpa’s high standards.
This role emphasizes a client-first attitude, with a continuous drive to improve processes and procedures. The Creative Project Manager embodies an upbeat kindness that fosters relationships and enhances team chemistry, employing a servant leadership style that empowers the team and brings out the best in everyone.
What will I be doing?
Project Planning:
- Develop project plans, timelines, and milestones.
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Allocate resources effectively.
Client Communication:
- Act as the main point of contact between Ghost Sherpa and the client.
- Understand and interpret client needs and expectations.
- Provide regular updates and project progress reports to clients.
Team Collaboration:
- Coordinate and collaborate with creative teams, ensuring everyone understands their roles and responsibilities.
- Foster a positive and collaborative working environment.
Budget Management:
- Develop and manage project budgets.
- Track expenses and ensure projects are within budget constraints.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans.
- Mitigate risks to ensure project success.
Quality Control:
- Ensure the final deliverables have been reviewed and meet quality standards and client expectations.
- Conduct thorough reviews of creative work before presenting it to clients.
Timeline Management:
- Monitor project timelines and deadlines.
- Implement strategies to keep projects on schedule.
Client Feedback and Revisions:
- Gather client feedback and communicate it effectively to the creative team.
- Manage the revision process to meet client expectations.
Account Management:
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Identify opportunities for upselling or expanding services.
Proposal and Presentation:
- Participate in client pitches and presentations.
- Develop proposals for new projects and initiatives.
Conflict Resolution:
- Address and resolve conflicts within or between the team and the client.
- Maintain a positive and professional relationship with all stakeholders.
Client Satisfaction:
- Measure and assess client satisfaction.
- Seek feedback to improve services continuously.
Reporting:
- Generate regular reports on project status, budget, and other relevant metrics.
- Provide insights for continuous improvement in project management processes.
What experience do I need to succeed?
- 5+ years of project, product, account, production, or traffic management experience in the creative industry or a design department.
- 3+ years of supervisory/management experience with hourly or salaried employees, with a track record of coaching and developing them to be their best.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, PhotoShop, and Figma) and PM software like Asana is a plus.
