Genomic testing is innovative technology now being widely adopted by the leading dairy and beef producers. Zoetis is a leading provider to dairy and beef producers with genomic testing products and services. This is an exciting opportunity to drive the genetics portfolio across southern Australia working with the regionally located sales team, industry stakeholders and producers.
What’s the job
Responsibilities for this role include:
- Driving sales of the Zoetis genetics portfolio of products with a specific focus on dairy producers across Victoria, Tasmania, SA and WA. Key to success in this role is your effective collaboration with the sales and customer service teams to achieve sales.
- Lead the sales support with territory managers for the group of dairy genetics products.
- Developing new business whilst maintaining an existing client base
- Promote and ensure the technical understanding of Zoetis’ genetic products and services to key customers and stakeholders.
- Coordinating and hosting local activities including producer facing workshops and field days.
- Through extension activities assist in delivering effective education and information to producers and industry stakeholders regarding genetics and animal health
- A strong emphasis on cultivating and nurturing relationships and delivering value for customers.
- Working with the genetics customer service team to facilitate customer orders are placed efficiently and in a timely manner is an essential requirement.
- Actively engaged in supporting the Zoetis genetics and livestock sales teams through sales support and internal training.
- Provide consulting services to customers and external partners to drive a greater understanding and adoption of genomic solutions.
- Your analytical and reporting skills, task orientation, proactive approach and well-developed organisational skills will be highly valued.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- Knowledge and experience in animal breeding, genetics and genomics. Tertiary qualifications in agricultural science, animal breeding, genetics, genomics or a related field is highly desired.
- Experience with dairy and beef producers in a sales or extension capacity. Experience in selling or communicating genetic technologies is highly desired.
- Ability to complete territory sales analysis to support existing clients and future sales growth.
- An excellent understanding of the dairy and beef industries and genetic evaluations. Ability to use information, including genomic data, to support genetic improvement strategies in herds.
- Experience working with livestock producers and stakeholder organisations
- A demonstrated ability to work harmoniously across multiple organisational teams including territory sales representatives, customer call centre and customer service
- Demonstrated strong oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communications skills.
- Strong IT skills including Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with CRM, Database dashboards and Salesforce customer management programs highly desired.
- This role requires travel throughout Victoria, Tasmania, SA and WA to support sales and customer interactions, internal and external meetings, conventions and tradeshows.
