We are on the hunt for a highly commercial, strategically driven, Product/Procurement Manager who has strong experience in procurement, buying or category management to join our Commercial team!

You will be responsible for creating our pricing, buying and procurement strategies for our major product groups. Working closely with our supplier network to deliver the best commercial result to the sales team, you will be linking a strategic buying model to a strategic selling solution. Plus, we want you to grow our product offering – be on the look out for new products all the time.

A normal day in the role of the Product/Procurement Manager includes:

• Creating buying and sourcing strategies for all major product groups
• Supporting the establishment of key market targets and objectives
• Developing and nurturing supplier relationships in line with company expectations
• Developing innovative platforms to grow all product groups across current sales channels, including new products, new origins and new packaging formats
• Implementing supply contingency plans that match our risk assessments and customer requirements
• Working proactively with Account Managers to grow market share of existing products
• Identifying and presenting our suppliers’ capabilities to the business and our customers
• Managing supplier contracts on behalf of Scalzo and our end customers
• Establishing and distributing relevant promotional materials in relation to supply capabilities

To be in the running for this role, you should have:

• A tertiary qualification and relevant experience
• Strong demonstrated commercial, buying and category management experience
• A genuine passion for making a difference to help improve the way our customers work
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• An open, curious and optimistic outlook; you’re a problem solver
• An entrepreneurial flair; always searching for ‘what’s next’ and can lead with agility
• Exceptional organisational and planning skills
• Excitement to learn and be exposed to different capabilities and experiences within the business
• Passionate about culture and self-motivated
• Food industry experience (advantageous)
