Founding Frontend Engineer (Remote)

Overview

The Founding Frontend Engineer will be a pivotal role in shaping the user experience of our pioneering products. As an early member of the team, you will possess significant influence over the design and architecture of the frontend, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience for our users. Reporting directly to the CTO, the Founding Frontend Engineer will work alongside other founding members to establish a solid technical foundation, define best practices, and implement innovative solutions that will set the standard for our platform. Your contributions will directly impact user engagement and satisfaction, positioning our organization as a leader in the tech industry. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop efficient, reusable, and reliable JavaScript code.
• Create responsive user interfaces adhering to best practices in UI/UX design.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define product specifications.
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Implement and manage frontend architecture and technology stack.
• Conduct peer code reviews to maintain quality and consistency.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Debug and troubleshoot web applications, addressing performance issues.
• Create and maintain documentation for code and architecture.
• Contribute to a positive team culture and foster an environment of continuous improvement.
• Work closely with backend engineers to integrate APIs and services.
• Build and improve automated testing processes for the frontend.
• Participate in strategic planning sessions, contributing insights on potential product directions.
• Mentor junior developers and promote professional growth within the team.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in frontend development.
• Proven experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Strong proficiency in React or similar frontend frameworks.
• Understanding of state management libraries like Redux or Context API.
• Experience with responsive and adaptive design principles.
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling.
• Familiarity with modern build tools such as Webpack, Babel, or similar.
• Knowledge of performance optimization techniques for the web.
• Previous experience in a startup environment is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and teamwork ethic.
• A portfolio of completed projects demonstrating your skills and experience.
• Experience with version control, ideally Git.
• Familiarity with accessibility best practices.
• Passion for creating high-quality software and user-centered applications.
