Large Group Consultant | The Word & Brown Companies | United States
(Base: $90,000 + incentive DOE)
Purpose of Position: The Large Group Sales Consultant will partner with the Sales Team statewide to promote the sale of Large Groups. This position is Southern California Based and requires travel to Northern California and Nevada.
Essential Functions:
• Have a focus on forward thinking concepts and engagement resulting in increased large group sales
• Prepare and present proposals and comparison spreadsheets, recommending the best options to clients based on their unique needs
• Analyze trends, carrier updates, and networks
• Work closely with Underwriting and statewide Sales Support staff
• Partner with Marketing to promote our Large Group Value Proposition
• Train Internal Statewide Staff with Market updates and trends
• Host Boot Camps, Webinars, Participate in VIP Tours and Lunch & Learns to educate brokers statewide. Implement strategies to educate and engage brokers
• Assist with statewide Enrollment Meetings and Client Presentations
• Assist with rate negotiation and resolution of inquiries
• On-site or remote regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job.
• Performs other business tasks or functions as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• Computer literate; proficiency in Excel is a must.
• Prior health insurance knowledge.
• Excellent customer service, including verbal and telephone skills.
• Excellent grammar and spelling.
• Public speaking skills are required.
• Detail-oriented, strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Ability to interface with Carriers, Brokers and Clients in a professional manner.
• Team oriented.
• Must be able to work and achieve goals with minimum supervision in a fast paced environment.
• Must think outside the box and adapt to change.
• Must possess a valid California driver’s license, have and maintain proper car insurance.
• Must have and maintain an active California Life & Health Insurance producer license.
Educational Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• College degree preferred
• Two to three (2-3) years minimum of industry experience.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and occasional standing and walking. Must have adequate hearing for phone work. Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Must be able to use a keyboard and other office equipment. Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
