We are seeking an accomplished Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in identifying new business opportunities while fostering strong, ongoing relationships with our valued clients. As the primary contact for both new and existing clients, you will deliver exceptional service, advocate for client needs, and ensure the highest quality standards. Your ability to cultivate long-term relationships with key stakeholders will be essential in driving both repeat and new business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively generate new business by identifying and qualifying clients and markets to facilitate strategic revenue growth.
  • Establish and maintain robust client relationships, ensuring alignment with company objectives and continued business engagement.
  • Act as the principal liaison between clients and the organization, overseeing the entire sales cycle from prospecting to closing sales.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to address client needs and deliver superior service, providing leadership in account management.
  • Meet or exceed sales quotas for both new and existing clients, engaging in client meetings, events, and industry networking opportunities, which may require national travel.
  • Prepare comprehensive sales reports, maintaining accurate sales forecasts and documentation.
  • Provide competitive pricing quotes and prepare necessary sales contracts.
  • Develop a comprehensive list of prospective clients utilizing various resources and techniques.
  • Mentor and support team members, promoting a collaborative approach to selling when applicable.
  • Contribute to the budgeting process for existing accounts and assist in projecting revenue for new clients.
  • Lead the discovery process with clients to ascertain and define key needs such as project scopes, performance metrics, and payment terms.

Required Skills

  • Proven expertise in consultative sales, particularly within the retail/commercial construction or related industries.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Salesforce or equivalent CRM software.
  • Strong understanding of construction practices, codes, and procedures.
  • Exceptional relationship-building, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and critical thinking skills.
  • Advanced time management and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of consultative sales experience, ideally in retail/commercial construction or related fields.
  • Willingness to travel nationwide as required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Construction, or a related field is preferred.
