Key Responsibilities
- Lead a dedicated team of planners, designers, and support staff to actualize client visions.
- Actively engage in client management while overseeing the civil design process and team dynamics.
- Foster marketing and client development initiatives for the department.
- Define design criteria and supervise the efficient preparation of plans and designs.
- Tackle complex design challenges through the application of engineering principles and industry standards.
- Establish project controls to guarantee high-quality deliverables and accurate designs.
- Ensure technical quality, profitability, project timelines, and effective communication with clients and team members.
- Navigate the approval process with public agencies.
- Maintain regular client interactions, including proposal development, scope negotiations, and managing billing and change orders.
- Mentor junior engineers and CAD operators, offering guidance in engineering principles and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Proficient design skills in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, particularly for land development projects that involve grading, drainage, streets, utilities, and stormwater systems.
- Ability to apply civil engineering fundamentals in a fast-paced, service-oriented context.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with an eagerness to participate in both internal and client-facing roles.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- A current Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in California.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience, encompassing technical applications, project management, and collaborative teamwork.
- Competence in preparing grading plans, utility layouts, site plans, and preliminary cost estimates.

Compensation And Benefits
