As a Data Product Manager at our client, you’ll work with data scientists, engineers, and stakeholders to identify opportunities, prioritize data features, and ensure successful deployment of data-driven solutions. Your expertise will be key in creating data products that deliver value and actionable insights to business users.

- Define and Drive Data Product Strategy:
- Develop and lead the strategy for data products that align with business objectives and user needs. You’ll create product roadmaps, prioritize features, and define metrics to measure success.
- Work closely with data engineers and scientists to design and build data products, from data pipelines and storage solutions to analytical tools and dashboards. You’ll ensure data products are optimized for usability, scalability, and reliability.
- Conduct interviews and gather feedback from stakeholders to identify user needs and pain points. You’ll translate requirements into technical specifications and product features that deliver value.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of data products, from ideation to launch and beyond. You’ll track performance metrics, manage product iterations, and ensure continuous improvement based on user feedback.
- Partner with data engineering and compliance teams to enforce data quality standards and ensure data products adhere to regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA). You’ll implement best practices for data governance.
- Plan and execute product launches in collaboration with marketing and sales teams. You’ll ensure stakeholders understand the value of data products and support user adoption.
- Present data product roadmaps, progress, and performance to executive leadership and cross-functional teams. You’ll advocate for data product initiatives and educate stakeholders on the benefits of data-driven solutions.
Required Skills
- Data Product Management Expertise: Strong experience in managing the lifecycle of data products, including strategy, development, and release management. You’re familiar with both technical and business aspects of data product management.
- Technical Knowledge in Data Systems: Understanding of data engineering concepts, including data pipelines, ETL processes, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure). Familiarity with SQL and data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- User-Centric Mindset: Ability to gather and translate user needs into actionable product features. You can prioritize product features based on user impact and business value.
- Project Management and Collaboration: Proven skills in project management, with experience using tools like JIRA, Asana, or Trello. You’re adept at working with cross-functional teams and aligning stakeholders around shared goals.
- Communication and Storytelling: Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex data concepts clearly and compellingly to non-technical audiences.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Business, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent experience in product management or data engineering may be considered.
- Certifications in product management (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner, Pragmatic Product Management) are advantageous.
Experience Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on data products or analytics solutions.
- Experience working with cloud data tools and managing data from various sources, including structured and unstructured data.
- Background in a specific industry, such as finance, healthcare, or e-commerce, is beneficial but not required.
