We are seeking a skilled and driven Commercial Insurance Sales Representative to join our team and enhance our market presence in Central Pennsylvania. This role is pivotal in cultivating and maintaining relationships with both new and existing distribution partners, with a focus on driving new business and expanding our network within the commercial lines sector.

The ideal candidate will bring a solid network of established relationships with agencies and brokerages in the Central Pennsylvania region, paired with a strong market reputation. You will collaborate closely with partners to uncover new business opportunities and fortify our distribution partner network while adhering to our exclusive distribution model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and leverage existing relationships with agencies and brokers to generate new business opportunities.
  • Evaluate current agent partnerships and identify potential new distribution partners in the region.
  • Spearhead the onboarding process for new agents and brokers, capitalizing on established connections.
  • Recognize cross-selling and upselling opportunities in collaboration with partners to expand their business.
  • Organize meetings with key accounts to present tailored business proposals, showcasing our diverse range of plans.
  • Conduct pre-renewal discussions with agencies to facilitate seamless transitions and foster continued business growth.
  • Work in tandem with underwriting teams to analyze competitor offerings and deliver optimal pricing solutions.
  • Lead the annual planning initiatives, ensuring strategic goals are met through ongoing monitoring and adjustments.
  • Engage with agencies and brokers to align on underwriting appetite, pricing, and services.
  • Attend point-of-sale meetings as required to support business development efforts.
  • Assist with the contracting and onboarding of new agencies and brokers, as well as the termination of relationships when necessary.
  • Maintain current profiles for agencies and brokers to ensure accurate records and effective communication.
  • Participate in corporate events, including community outreach and marketing initiatives, to enhance visibility and strengthen partnerships.

Required Skills

  • Proven success in sales, particularly within the commercial lines insurance sector.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating complex concepts with clarity.
  • In-depth understanding of commercial lines insurance products, including their applications and benefits.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, skilled in managing multiple clients and priorities.
  • Familiarity with insurance rating procedures and a comprehensive understanding of coverage options.
  • Experience with insurance underwriting and market references.
  • Goal-oriented with a track record of achieving and exceeding strategic objectives.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and project management skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or a High School Diploma/GED.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial insurance, focusing on marketing, sales, production underwriting, or distribution/relationship management.
  • Familiarity with the commercial lines market in Central Pennsylvania is preferred.
