As we expand our team, we seek a committed Homeowner Legal Services Intake Specialist who will play a pivotal role in assisting homeowners and mobile homeowners confronting foreclosure and housing instability. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and supporting those in need.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate legal intakes for the Homeownership Defense Team, including foreclosure defense and mobile homeowner defense.
  • Evaluate income eligibility and apply an objective scoring system to determine services.
  • Recommend appropriate actions to supervising attorneys based on intake insights.
  • Organize and gather necessary documentation for intake assessments to ensure efficient case management.
  • Oversee transitions from intake to our case management system, assisting directors and paralegals in finalizing cases.
  • Identify potential legal issues and evaluate the scope of cases to connect applicants with vital support.
  • Create and provide comprehensive legal resources and referrals tailored to clients’ specific needs.
  • Identify and suggest improvements in the intake process, collaborating with leadership for implementation.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant fields such as law, housing, advocacy, organizing, or social work.
  • Experience in housing law, foreclosure defense, or eviction defense is highly advantageous.
  • A strong commitment to social and racial justice, with fervor for addressing client and community needs.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective engagement with clients.
  • Strong organizational abilities to adeptly manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Google Suite, and case management systems (e.g., Clio) is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel within the Denver Metro area and surrounding suburbs as required.
  • Fluency in additional languages is a plus and may qualify for an additional stipend.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in relevant fields.
  • Preferred experience in housing law, foreclosure defense, or eviction defense.
  • Strong dedication to social and racial justice.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Competitive salary of $67,500 per year.
  • Additional $2,000 per year for bilingual employees.
