This includes, executing Epic projects that require gathering and interpreting data, developing and maintaining project schedules, maintaining and properly controlling project scope, collaboratively implementing projects, monitoring project budget, mitigating risks, fostering sustainable relationships with community partners, and serving as a strategic thinking partner within the project team. Epic Projects include Epic application and integrated third party vendor implementations, optimizations, and maintenance/upgrades.
The Epic Project Manager will also be responsible for coordination and management of ongoing Epic workgroups. The Epic workgroups are responsible for planning for Epic issue mitigation, Epic maintenance, and Epic and integrated third party vendor projects, changes, upgrades, and optimizations. This includes but is not limited to, supporting Nova Note review, monitoring Gold Star, Honor Roll, and Staying Current requirements as directed by Epic and the Epic Program Manager, and ensuring optimization of Epic applications are consistent with CUC’s mission and values.
Essential Duties (at least 5 that are non-negotiable duties and are absolutely pertinent to successfully completing the job without accommodations)
- Manage and coordinate projects to include establishing and implementing work plans, leading activities of various workgroups, and managing day-to-day operational aspects of a project.
- Work with project team members or subject matter experts to define project scope, goals, resource requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
- Continually monitor and report project progress to stakeholders, identifying risk points, and proposing solutions or escalating to leadership as needed.
- Analyze programs or operations to determine how they affect other programs or operations and whether/how they could be better coordinated.
- Document existing operations or workstreams and analyzes potential changes to maximize coordination or efficiency.
- Participate in strategic or operational planning exercises for CommUnityCare.
- Collaborate with multiple functional areas across the organization to gather operational requirements, improve processes, and influence operations as they pertain to the EHRS as directed by the Manager.
- Engage with operations to prepare for adoption of Epic optimizations and enhancements.
- Support EHRS optimization backlog and ongoing monitoring of EHRS applications.
- Manage the day-to-day work of the Epic workgroups to vet new feature releases and support operational buy-in and readiness.
- Serve as resource person/liaison between CUC and Epic for health center team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of
- Project management principles

- Clinical and administrative healthcare operations and, ideally, funding models
- Principles and practices of business strategies, objectives, planning, development and management processes and process improvement
- Short and long-term budgeting and forecasting

- Collaborate and coordinate effectively with key internal/external stakeholders, medical staff, administration, community
partner agencies, regulatory agencies, and the public
- Communicate complex information in clear and unambiguous terms to stakeholders, including Senior Leaders, other
community stakeholders and health center management
- Work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment while also driving toward clarity and solutions
- Develop approaches for implementing an idea
MINIMUM EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
- 3 years of Epic and/or IT project management with a bachelor’s degree
OR
- 1 year of Epic and/or IT project management with a master’s degree
