Job Opportunity: Principal Software Engineer

Objective: As a Principal Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing advanced functionality within our Human Capital Management (HCM) platform. You will act as a subject matter expert across multiple application areas, lead one or more scrum teams, and provide technical guidance to developers. This position demands a proactive individual dedicated to ensuring that our solutions meet the highest quality standards, are user-friendly, and align with business objectives.

• Lead the development and deployment of complex software solutions within a fast-paced agile environment.

• Serve as a key liaison with product owners and external teams, fostering collaboration and alignment.
• Utilize your expertise to solve challenging problems independently, while mentoring and supporting the team.

Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary contact for product owners and external stakeholders.
• Lead production support activities, ensuring prompt resolution of third-level support requests.
• Serve as the team’s scrum master, when appropriate, facilitating agile ceremonies and improving development processes.
• Design, develop, and maintain user interface controls, business logic, and SQL Server stored procedures.
• Implement functionality in compliance with coding standards.
• Collaborate with business analysts to clarify requirements and troubleshoot issues.
• Proactively seek external resources when the team encounters unsolvable technical challenges.
• Investigate and resolve complex software issues.

• Anticipate changes in technology and industry trends, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of innovation.
• Navigate significant barriers to entry, including high-level management reviews and approvals.

Supervision:

• Exercise wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 10+ years of relevant experience in web application/services development.
• 10+ years of experience with large enterprise or e-business systems.
• Proven ability to independently research and solve complex technical problems.
• Expertise in multiple functional areas, including Azure, Microservice Architecture, C#, SQL, Unit Testing, .NET, JavaScript, and HTML.
• Strong skills in Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Familiarity with Knockout, Angular, Azure CosmosDB (or other NoSQL databases), Pub/Sub messaging, Docker, and MVVM.
• Experience with large-scale systems (500+ database tables) is a plus.
• Demonstrated eagerness to learn and grow professionally.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Travel Requirements:

• Up to 15% domestic travel may be required.

Work Environment:

• This position offers flexibility with remote work arrangements from Colombia.
