About the Company
Our client is a rapidly growing Aussie tech start-up that is tackling the relatively new EdTech category. They are pioneering to ensure schools, students and parents get the very most from their extracurricular programs – from sport, to music, performing arts, outdoor education and more. They’re a fast-paced, venture-backed startup, and an alumni of the Start mate accelerator program
The product is currently used by 10s of 1000s of staff and students at schools across Australia. They are one of the fastest growing EdTech businesses in APAC growing at a rapid pace in 2024. This year the business will continue to go international, growing across the Middle East and Asia. Over the past year has received large capital injections from a variety of VC partners and being written up in Forbes and the Australian Financial Review.
You will be a key member of the executive team, work directly with the founders and external stakeholders to position yourself as a key driver of Growth!
The ‘Account Executive’ will be a crucial part of the growth team, driving new business and helping us expand our impact in the education sector. You’ll manage the end-to-end sales process (360)—from prospecting to closing deals.
Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and reach out to potential school customers, leveraging data insights to inform targeted outreach.
- Conduct meaningful discovery calls to understand the specific challenges schools face and help build the business case that demonstrates why this is the superior product.
- Deliver compelling product demonstrations that highlight the value of the platform in addressing individual client needs.
- Negotiate and collaborate with key decision-makers, balancing client requirements with strategic business goals to reach mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships by showcasing the software’s value proposition and fostering partnerships beyond initial sales.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Customer Success, Marketing) to provide insights from the field that enhance our product and service offerings.
- Stay ahead of market trends and incorporate those insights into client conversations to drive meaningful change.
- Drive continuous improvement by participating in team initiatives like strategic planning, sales training, and brainstorming sessions to refine go-to-market strategies.
Your Skills and Experience
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in software sales, preferably within the EdTech space and a dynamic startup/scaleup environment. Those without will still be considered.
- Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, particularly adept at emails and virtual conversations.
- Methodical approach: Experience with sales methodologies (e.g. MEDDICC, Sandler, or similar) is a plus.
- Passion: A genuine enthusiasm for extracurricular activities and the benefits they bring to young people’s development.
- Prospecting: Comfortable and effective with cold outreach to initiate and foster client relationships.
