Account Manager – Extended Producer responsibility (EPR) including Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), Packaging and Plastic Packaging Tax (PPT)
Location – Hybrid/remote (ideally midlands based)
Hours – Monday to Friday, 8:30-5:00. 1 day in a local office and the rest remote, however this can change on occasion.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Account Manager within our Compliance team.
Biffpack and Transform are Biffa’s compliance schemes and one of the longest running in the sector. The compliance manager will be responsible for providing technical support and guidance to our customers on producer compliance areas such as Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), Packaging, Extended Producer responsibility (EPR), Plastic Packaging Tax (PPT). The ability to take onboard and engage with regulatory details to ensure accurate reporting is achieved along with excellent customer service. Confidence in working independently to manage your own set of customers and audits to ensure all audits are completed within the timescales agreed. The Compliance manager will need to present regulatory updates via webinars or F2F events, or newsletters etc.
While this is advertised externally as an account manager internally this role transitions to a Compliance Manager.
Responsibilities –
- Member communication and account management of key clients
- To provide guidance, knowledge and support on technical queries in regards to Extended Producer responsibility (EPR) including Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), Packaging and Plastic Packaging Tax (PPT)
- Manager your audit schedule and ensure you achieve target set and follow the process to ensure all audits are documented and actions taken
- Proactively engage with customers in providing help with queries
- Responsible for recruitment and retention of compliance customers
- To provide first line support to members and internal departments.
- Ensure up to date on Legislation changes.
- Ensure compliance with all QA procedures in line with job tasks.
- Support through compliance submission periods
- Ability to present in webinars, F2F events on producer compliance

Requirements –
- Ideally a knowledge of the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), Packaging, Extended Producer responsibility (EPR), Plastic Packaging Tax and its practical application.
- Excellent Customer service and account management skills.
- Proactive individual with ability to manage workload
- High level of numeracy and literacy.
- Good interpersonal skills and able to communicate at all levels.
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to work effectively in a small team.
- Sound knowledge of other office applications.
- The ability to take on projects and to meet deadlines.
