Location: Home-based, ideally in Midwest or Atlanta
Job Summary
As an Agricultural Sales Manager focusing on crop and soil solutions, you will drive commercial success in North America, managing a diverse customer portfolio with over $7M in product revenue. Your role is pivotal in expanding our market presence, developing new business opportunities, and ensuring profitability across all markets in your area.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Management & Growth
- Manage and grow existing customer base
- Engage prospects to expand customer portfolio
- Drive business and market development in the Agricultural segment
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Contribute to commercial strategy development, including distribution management
- Participate in annual sales planning, budgeting, and mid-term planning
- Execute commercial roadmaps for your segment, products, and geography
Performance & Analysis
- Analyze sales trends and prepare management reports
- Set and monitor performance goals
- Ensure customer satisfaction and identify growth opportunities
Account Management
- Negotiate contracts and identify profitability improvement opportunities
- Apply pricing policies and manage customer relationships
- Support Key Account Managers in adjacent markets when needed
Revenue & Cash Management
- Manage volumes, revenues, and pricing strategies
- Monitor Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and payment terms
- Understand the competitive environment and anticipate competitive responses
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to safety rules and educate teams on preventive measures
Scope
- Manage 40+ customers across the United States & Canada
- Travel up to 50% of the time
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Sales, Distribution Sales, or Technical Sales in the Agricultural market
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
- In-depth knowledge of seed coatings, crop protection, and soil amendments
- Experience working with large distribution networks in the Agricultural market
- Proven track record in sales and account management
- Strong business acumen and technical aptitude
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Self-motivated with a “hunter” mentality and entrepreneurial spirit
- Proficiency in common IT tools (Excel, Word, G Suite); Salesforce experience a plus
- Ability to work and influence cross functionally amongst Operations, Logistics, Marketing, Product Management, & Customer Service
