Salary Range: ₹13,53,386 – ₹15,61,599 per annum

Outline of Role

• As part of the team, you will be responsible for leading the Mumbai project design teams in delivering the design of external façade packages for a diverse range of architecturally sophisticated buildings throughout the UK and Ireland. Reporting to the Design Manager, you will work closely with the pre-construction, commercial, and operational teams throughout the design, production, and installation stages of each project.

Responsibilities

• Interpreting architectural requirements for the design, fabrication, and installation of building facades, roof lights, and fenestration through drawings and other related information. This includes ensuring compliance with the manufacturer’s recommendations, company procedures, client requirements, representative standards, and current legislation.
• Monitoring each project to ensure it stays within budget and aligns with the company’s design and QA procedures.
• Providing direction and support to the design teams (both internal and external), monitoring design program progress, and reporting any potential issues to the Design team.
• Regularly liaising with other departments, including Purchasing, Estimating, Commercial, and Operations.
• Attending handover meetings to discuss the project, identify design areas needing attention, and clarify the scope of work.
• Proactively addressing any discrepancies in project documentation or specifications and arranging meetings as necessary.
• Following up on and requesting outstanding information from clients.
• Ensuring that any relevant project information received from the customer is appropriately communicated to the company.
• Overseeing the production of working drawings/designs in accordance with the specifications received from the customer and amendments agreed upon at the preorder stage.
• Ensuring that drawings are within the estimated cost budget and that construction methods, setting out, and materials used are clearly defined.
• Ensuring all calculations are produced in a timely manner to meet manufacturers’ delivery dates, in compliance with the company’s CDM procedures.
• Liaising directly with the appropriate representatives to agree on any variations between the customer specifications/drawings and the tender documents. Advising quantity surveyors of any potential contract variations and submitting designs for internal review and client approval.
• Leading the timely production of flashing schedules, procurement schedules, and cutting lists, allowing sufficient time for internal review and checking procedures, and to meet manufacturers’ delivery dates.
• Reviewing procurement, flashing schedules, and all manufacturing paperwork produced by other members of the design team.
• Supervising and monitoring the issuance of drawings and other design information by other designers and trainee designers, ensuring adherence to relevant processes and procedures.
• Keeping daily records of contracts worked on for weekly timesheets.
• Leading the timely production of operation and maintenance manuals.
• Providing support to the Design Manager and all members of the team.
• Additionally, the Employer may assign any specific job to the Employee as deemed necessary.
