As a part of the Analytics team, the Analytics Developer collaborates with their Business Partner peers, Analytics Engineers, and the Actuarial and Data Science teams in the use of technology solutions, analytic methodologies and data mining tools. Additionally, you’ll specialize in scoping analytics work with customers, documenting business needs and problems, and most importantly, translating them into analytics solutions that are actively used to improve decision-making and clinical or business outcomes.
Location:
Remote- strong preference for candidates residing within the UPH geographies of Iowa, Illinois, & Wisconsin.

Responsibilities
What You’ll Do:
- Bridges the technical expertise of analytics engineers and data scientists with the operational expertise of clinical and business leaders.
- Converts analytics-derived insights into actionable recommendations through means like visualization and data storytelling to generate action.
- Looks for business problems that can be supported by analytics, as well as driving buy-in with stakeholders once enterprise analytics solutions are deployed.
- Collaborates with the other analytics team members to develop solutions and then works with end-users to use the solutions designed to drive improvements, interpret results, identify opportunities and monitor outcomes.
Qualifications
What You’ll Need:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations Research, Business, Business Analytics, Healthcare Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Actuarial Science or related field.
- OR equivalent experience of at least 5 years working in an analytics or healthcare operations setting that includes demonstrated results driving improvements using data and analytics methodologies and techniques.
Experience:
- Demonstrated proficiency in presenting information to other groups.
- Requires communications and negotiation skills to effectively work with all levels of management throughout UPH, its subsidiaries and affiliates.
- Demonstrated knowledge and practical use of health information standards.
- Informal leadership skills and ability to work as a team member.
- Strong understanding of analytical methods, tools, statistics and data management.
- Must demonstrate experience as an excellent oral and written communicator and exhibit excellent interpersonal skills.
- Visualization development
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Proficiency with:
- Writing queries with SQL or other querying tools
- Business intelligence visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI)
- Communication to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Scripting in the R or Python ecosystems
- Healthcare operations
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access.
- Requires ability to synthesize data using Excel and similar tools.
- Ability to continuously learn and adopt new methods and technologies
- Preference given to applicants with demonstrated examples of synthesizing data and using visualization tools in the presentation of data and information.
- Preference given to applicants with demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams.
- Preference given to applicants with demonstrated writing and verbal communication skills in presenting complex concepts and recommendations to a diverse knowledge-based audience.
