JOB SUMMARY The (Sr.) Application Developer plays a crucial role in comprehending the needs of the Markets Applications business area(s) and contributes to project and product support teams by translating these requirements into technical systems. In fulfilling this role, the (Sr.) Application Developer collaborates with project and product support teams to guarantee that the technical solutions align with business requirements and are executed with a commitment to high quality.
This position includes responsibilities related to both project support and ongoing product maintenance activities. Essential Functions Customer Satisfaction Develop a positive, service-oriented relationship with business units. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of application systems to meet business needs. Solution Delivery Take primary responsibility for technical deliverables in application code development. Support all phases of the software development lifecycle, from Requirements Gathering to Production support. Collaborate with the data analyst/engineer/architect/administrator to develop appropriate data models. Development and Maintenance Develop, debug, and test computer applications based on user requirements. Debug, remediate, and enhance existing applications with guidance from subject matter experts. Maintain design documents as per standards for application development by collaborating with subject matter experts within the Application Development team(s). Follow ITS approved standards, framework(s) & methodology for development and maintenance. Collaboration and Support Respond to support calls in off-hours for 24X7 application support. Assist testing staff in developing product and integration testing approaches. Assist in integrating systems from external vendors. Mentor other staff members to ensure consistency in development approaches. Recommendations and Relationship Building: Identify and recommend application system solutions and enhancements. Identify enhancements to application development standards and best practices. Build strong relationships with business clients by providing superior customer support. Required Skills and Abilities

1. Proficient in generating precise and high-quality work, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail.
2. Skilled in visualizing and resolving intricate problems.
3. Proficient in applying analytical and mathematical solutions to challenges.
4. Proven experience as a Java UI programmer building scalable web applications and web services
5. Experience using Java web frameworks (ex PrimeFaces, Spring, etc)
6. Strong skills developing full-stack applications with data integration layers to backend systems
7. Familiarity with Database Management System (DBMS) concepts, SQL queries, tables, views, stored procedures, etc.
8. Experience developing PL/SQL code and using SQL Developer IDE is preferred but not required.
9. (Optional) Familiarity with analytical and visualization tools, preferably Alteryx, SAS, and Tableau.
