The Opportunity
We now have an excellent opportunity for an Area Operations Manager to cover the Somerset region. Where you’ll split your time across a cluster of quarries including our Limestone Super Quarry, Torr Works.
This region is responsible for the extraction of in excess of 7m tonnes of material each year. And, being home to one of Aggregate Industries’ three super quarries, you’ll play a key part in driving an excellent culture across our sites.
Inclusive of one of our busiest rail networks with Torr Works having 14 miles of track to maintain, as well as a busy fleet of vehicles. You’ll help to support strong relationships with suppliers to keep this region operational in its efforts to supply materials to key infrastructure projects across the country in a just in time market.
As the Area Operations Manager you’ll take an overall responsibility for our Operational teams in the region. From Drilling, Blasting, Extraction, Processing and Distribution you’ll have a birdseye view of all processes ensuring that operational improvement and performance targets are achieved whilst maintaining a safe environment for all employees.
With roughly 200 operational employees in this region you’ll be supported by various managers where you’ll offer mentoring and guidance to help bring forward succession plans for key positions across the sites.
