Description:

SPS Commerce is seeking a strong candidate for an Associate Project Manager position in Melbourne, Australia. The ideal candidate will have a mix of experience in customer success and project management with the agility to move between teams and projects, and the flexibility to adapt to customer needs, process changes and changing priorities. A strong customer focus and outstanding relationship building skills are a must.

This is a full time, hybrid role requiring two days, including every Thursday, working in the Melbourne office, and up to three days working from home.

Day to Day
As Associate Project Manager, you will manage day-to-day project tasks for implementing SPS Commerce products and services from close of sale through handoff to customer support. You will take a customer-oriented approach to your work, always seeking to enhance the customer experience. Tasks will include:
  • Tracking progress of Implementation project(s). Ensuring deadlines are met and scheduling issues resolved
  • Creating and maintaining project work schedules, tracking customer requirements and translating requests into project deliverables
  • Informing customers and other stakeholders of project progress
  • Monitoring work-flow requirements to meet timelines and quality expectations
  • Prioritising needs, effectively managing resources, and completing necessary tasks
  • Other day-to-day project tasks to ensure execution of retention initiatives

Required Skills
To be a good fit for the role of Associate Project Manager position, you will have:
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and 2+ years of professional, non-project management experience, ideally within customer success
  • 1-2 years of hands-on project management experience
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects
  • Demonstrated understanding of processes and/or services to contribute to issue identification and idea generation/evaluation
  • Fantastic people skills; the ability to listen thoroughly and understand issues quickly
  • A data-driven mindset with experience developing and using metrics to inform decision making
  • Quality-focus; detail-orientation; ability to prioritise and multitask
  • Computer proficiency with scheduling tools and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organisational skills and written and verbal communication skills with various levels and titles inside and outside of the organisation
Preferred experience:
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision while taking initiative and setting priorities in a demanding, fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving ability
  • Experience developing processes and managing projects in a technology-based service organisation desired
  • Knowledge of supply chain, the retail industry and/or EDI is a plus
