What You’ll Do
As an Audit Associate, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Audit Manager in delivering all internal audit tasks with efficiency and quality. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive reviews of financial statements prepared in accordance with IFRS, managing client expectations, leading internal and client meetings, drafting relevant reports, coaching junior team members, and overseeing the overall project management of audits. Your ability to juggle multiple tasks at one time while maintaining a high level of attention to detail will be key to your success in this role.
- Support Audit Manager in delivering internal audit tasks efficiently and with quality
- Conduct planning & risk assessment, journals testing, substantive field work, analytical procedures, taxation / deferred tax calculation
- Manage inter-company transactions and consolidations
- Draft financial statements in accordance with IFRS
- Lead internal and client meetings, draft relevant reports
- Coach junior team members and manage overall project audits
- Review controls design and operating effectiveness
- Perform inventory testing and materiality calculations
- Document & report control weaknesses / deficiencies
- Prepare/audit consolidations and business acquisitions
What You Bring
The ideal candidate for the Audit Associate position brings a wealth of experience in public accounting audit along with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Your ability to review and coach junior team members will be invaluable in this role. You are well-versed in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, and have good knowledge of accounting software such as CaseWare. Your understanding of IFRS is solid, complemented by your excellent business development skills that enable you to build strong relationships.
- Completion of an Accounting / Finance related Undergraduate degree
- 3+ years of Public Accounting audit experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in reviewing and coaching junior team members
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel
- Good knowledge of accounting software such as CaseWare
- Good knowledge of IFRS
- Excellent business development skills enabling strong relationship building
