Job Title: Azure HCI and Hyper-V Systems Administrator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Azure HCI and Hyper-V Systems Administrator to manage and maintain our cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of Microsoft Azure HCI and Hyper-V environments to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability. You will play a key role in the company’s digital transformation journey, focusing on hybrid cloud strategies and virtualization technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Azure HCI:

• Azure HCI Deployment: Design, implement, and manage Azure Stack HCI solutions to meet business requirements for hybrid cloud infrastructure.
• Infrastructure Management: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the Azure hybrid environment, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Virtualization: Set up and manage virtual machines, containers, and associated networking on Azure and on-premises systems.
• Networking: Configure and manage hybrid networking solutions, ensuring secure connectivity between on-premises data centers and the Azure cloud.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery: Implement Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, and other high-availability solutions to ensure continuity of service.
• Storage Solutions: Deploy and manage software-defined storage systems as part of Azure HCI, ensuring scalable, efficient storage management.
• Automation: Develop and maintain scripts for automating routine tasks such as deployment, backup, and scaling of resources.
• Security: Work closely with security teams to ensure compliance with industry standards, including deploying security patches, managing identity access, and securing cloud and on-premises environments.
• Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to design solutions that meet business needs while optimizing costs.
• Documentation: Create detailed technical documentation for infrastructure designs, configurations, and processes. Implement security best practices, including network security groups (NSGs), firewalls, and encryption.

• Manage, configure, and troubleshoot Hyper-V environments, including virtual machines, failover clustering, and storage solutions.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery of on-premise virtualized environments.
• Perform regular backup and restore operations using Hyper-V Replica and integrated backup solutions.
• Patch and update Hyper-V hosts and clusters, ensuring minimal downtime.

• Design and implement hybrid cloud solutions using Azure Arc and Azure Stack HCI.
• Integrate on-premises Hyper-V environments with Azure for seamless resource management.
• Support cloud migration initiatives, including virtual machine migration from Hyper-V to Azure.

• Proactively monitor systems and services to ensure high availability and performance.
• Troubleshoot issues across Azure and Hyper-V environments, working with internal teams and vendors to resolve incidents.
• Use tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and SCOM for proactive monitoring and alerting.

• Ensure that both cloud and on-premise environments comply with security standards and regulatory requirements.
• Implement robust access controls, network segmentation, and encryption technologies.
• Collaborate with the security team to maintain vulnerability management and incident response protocols.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation for Azure deployments, Hyper-V infrastructure, and operational processes.
• Provide regular reports on system performance, usage, and security compliance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience managing Azure environments and Hyper-V infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with Azure IaaS/PaaS, Hyper-V, and Windows Server environments.
• Proficiency with PowerShell, Azure CLI, and automation tools.
• Knowledge of networking concepts (VNETs, VPNs, ExpressRoute) and security protocols (NSGs, firewalls).
• Strong understanding of backup/recovery solutions, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity.
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Hyper-V certifications are highly desirable.
