The Role: We seek a skilled back-end software Engineer with expertise in migrations and a deep understanding of data analysis and processing to join our dynamic technology team. This role is crucial as we expand our e-commerce and digital transformation capabilities. You will focus on migrating existing systems and data to modernized platforms, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption to ongoing operations, and managing all aspects of data handling.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement back-end architectures for data migration and system integration.
• Work within an existing migration framework and improve, extend, and enhance as required.
• Develop and maintain scalable and efficient code for various migration tasks, including data collection, analysis, mapping, transformation, and application to target systems.
• Manage and oversee all aspects of data handling, ensuring data integrity at all times, traceability of records through the entire migration process, reporting status as requested, and generating a manifest of migrated content at completion.
• Liaise with stakeholders to understand business needs, gather information to define requirements, and deliver solutions that meet the specified requirements.
• Define milestones, timelines, metrics, and deliverables, and then work to meet those commitments.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and correct any data or process issues during migration.
• Analyze and optimize back-end processes and systems for improved performance and reliability.
• Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding, debugging, testing, and system design.
• Document development processes, code changes, and other technical information as needed.
• Provide expertise and guidance on best practices in data migration and back-end development.
• Work closely with front-end engineers and project managers to ensure system compatibility and user satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience (3+ years) as a back-end software engineer, specifically with extensive experience in data migrations.
• Passionate about data analysis with a strong understanding of managing complicated data environments.
• Proficient in programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, or Ruby, and a strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure), understanding of serverless architectures, as well as Azure Functions or AWS lambda.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
