The Role:
The UPS Classifier role covers a wide range of services and legislative requirements for both Internal and External Customers.
Position responsibilities:
- Assessment of Import Shipments
- Detailed Classification to determine correct Tariff (HTS)
- Complex Valuation of import shipments
- Audit parts missing from the database and update as required
- Liaise with customer’s to ensure prompt generation of technical based enquiries,
- Undertake audit process on completed customs entries
- Create and amend customs entry refunds/PWA’s (Post Warrant Amendments).
- Assist Brokerage Team leaders and Management team to meet the departments KPIs and Service agreements to the UPS Customer.
- Provide technical advice to both Internal and External Customers in relation to import duty and tax rates and requirements of imported goods for both AU Customs and Quarantine agencies.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Having completed or are currently attending TAFE in the Diploma of Customs Brokerage, and experience in classifying
- Ability to set priorities
- Understanding of Cargo Wise Software (optional)
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Eye for detail and accuracy
- Strong time management skills
- Confident of working autonomously
- Willing to work in office 5 days a week
