M & Q Packaging are a global supplier of polyamide (extruded nylon) Film, bags, sheets, liners for use in both food and non-food packaging processes. Based in Limerick, M & Q Packaging have until recently, mostly manufactured and distributed food packaging for the Retail Industry and industrial food processors.

Within the last few years, M & Q Packaging have grown through diversification on their product range and are now competing in new markets with products such as non-food bags, used in many niche markets including, forensic, soil analysis, pharmaceutical and solvent recovery.

Due to this continued expansion and business growth, they are now seeking an Export Sales Business Development Manager

Business & Field Sales Development Manager

Job Purpose

  • Develop an understanding of the business and its current and prospective products and services
  • Design and execute a Business Development and Strategic Growth Plan
  • Generate export sales and leads growing the business further across existing and new markets
  • Possess and establish robust business and sales development, sales processes and sales leads for the business
  • Source & respond to contracts across our existing and new markets
  • Maintain and build relationships further with existing client base leading to increased business. Using these case studies to develop and promote new sales leads in especially export markets
  • Research organisations, industries and demographic of businesses to identify potential new markets and locations for export
  • Develop and deliver sales presentations or meetings. Attendance at conferences, buyer events, sales conventions, etc.
  • Maintaining all aspects of company CRM in respect of new business
  • Comply with all internal and external processes and quality systems relevant to the role.
  • Work with Head of Marketing and supporting the Marketing team with social media posts, analysing marketing campaigns to understand the results with on the ground or online feedback
  • Performing any other duties as may be reasonably required from time-to-time.
  • Training and intermittent travel to site in Limerick is required

Qualifications and desirable criteria

  • Experienced professional and expertise of min 4 years Business Development and Client engagement with some relevancy in sales in this field, or, especially previous sales in a manufacturing sales environment
  • Previous experience in export sales ROI to NI to UK to EU (any of these will be useful)
  • Experienced professional with strong communication skills including verbal, written, presentation skills
  • Independent, self-driven motivated and accountable
  • Work collaboratively with a Marketing team previously to have an understanding of sales /marketing online and traditional marketing
  • Have evidence and demonstrate winning contracts from leads to sale to completed contract
  • Providing examples of €value, process and evidencing the rights skills and aptitude for winning sales

Special factors

  • Some relevant experience within the market-place as noted above or within sales in the manufacturing industry is preferrable
  • Administration and attention to detail is necessary
  • Targets Negotiable with MD
  • Working from home when required is optional and can be facilitated post 6 months probation period
  • Salary €40k plus commission OTE €50- 60k
  • Own car by expenses (Mileage/wear and tear paid for)
  • Laptop, Phone and expenses
