We have an opportunity for a Business Development Executive to join our Commercial & Infrastructure Flow outside business development team. This highly successful business manufactures pump solutions used in commercial fire suppression and HVAC systems, as well as municipal water, wastewater treatment, and flood control. In this newly created position to support growth, you will focus on driving new business development with end user customers, engineers, contractors, and distributors on prospective and defined account lists. - This posting is for two positions.
- The East U.S. position will cover the eastern United States (OH, KY, IN, MS and east to the coast).
- The West U.S. position will cover the western United States (MT, WY, CO, and NM west to the coast, including AK and HI).
- Candidates can be located anywhere in the U.S. within driving distance of a major airport. **
You Will
- Conduct prospecting efforts, including cold calling and qualifying sales leads, based on data and contacts provided by the revenue operations team.
- Coordinate sales activities and communicate customer product requirements with other departments such as marketing, manufacturing, engineering, technical support, quality, warranty, and operations.
- Organize and develop sales proposals, pricing and quotation details as required.
- Partner with outside sales team to drive key account sales growth and attain revenue and profit margin objectives.
- Recommend and assist in the promotion, organization and guidance of inside sales policies and practices in an efficient manner to maximize market penetration of products.
Key Qualifications
- Have earned a bachelor’s (B.A. or B.S.) degree.
- Have 3-5 years of business development experience, including sales prospecting, cold calling, researching, qualifying and nurturing leads, preferably within a B2B manufacturing environment.
- Experience with water supply or disposal pumps used in commercial, industrial, or municipal applications.
- Technical aptitude and ability to learn and sell a portfolio of engineered products.
- Strong commercial aptitude, including ability to understand customer needs and requirements, identify solutions, build long-term dynamic relationships, and driven to find new markets or channels.
- Proven ability to communicate professionally with individuals both within and outside an organization.
- Customer focused, results-oriented, and possess strong negotiation skills.
Travel
- 50-70% overnight travel to meet with customers or business partners.
For California and New York City residents, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $105100 – $ 195000 / year. For all other candidates, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $95500 – $177300 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, and other relevant business or organizational needs. Actual compensation may be otherwise adjusted if the position if filled outside of the intended geographic location.
