The Business Development Lead role may be based in Perth, Western Australia or Melbourne, Victoria.

What you’ll do

The key accountabilities for our Business Development Lead role are:

• Achieve budgeted revenue commercial targets
• Market and grow the leasing of rollingstock to all industries who move freight on rail or have the potential to do so
• Submit proposals for new opportunities to new customers
• Negotiate leasing terms and conditions with individual customers
• Liaise with our operations teams to maximise the timely leasing of rollingstock
• Update the Customer Relationship Management System to ensure up to date customer information is available at all times
• Ensure timely distribution and movement of rollingstock in line with customer contractual arrangements
• Lead, manage and champion superior customer service standard when onboarding new customers
• Ensure that a credible new commercial pipeline is maintained and communicated

What you’ll bring

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Australian Rail Freight Operations is essential. 
• Well-developed business development, customer relations and negotiation skills and experience will be highly regarded.
• Proven ability and experience in commercial contract development, implementation and administration including dispute resolution.
• Well-developed conceptual, research, planning, analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to apply them when working to time and cost constraints.
• Self-motivation with minimum supervision.
