QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
The role will have an international focus, engaging business leaders across all industries. The Business Development Leader will communicate with corporate decision-makers through direct outreach, referrals, networking events, and social media channels. This position will bring carbon-related solutions to new clients to help them address sustainability, ESG, and CSR goals. As carbon credits are an emerging environmental commodity, this role will provide the opportunity to help educate and shape the Marketplace. This role includes full remote work.
Job Description
- Professional experience in business development or sales
- 5 years of experience working in global carbon markets and sustainability services
- 10 years of experience working on business development
- Experience negotiating contracts, presenting services to customers, finding new customers, growing, and managing a book of business or program
- Comfort with frequent client interaction, including developing and delivering presentations and written deliverables, owning, and building new relationships with external parties
- Ability to understand complex policy and regulatory environments and their commercial impacts
- Rigorous planning and proactive communication, comfortable managing multiple clients simultaneously and balancing priorities
- Critical thinking and fast learning, comfortable with qualitative and quantitative problems, spreadsheets, approximations, and assumptions
- Willing to travel on occasion (approximately 25%)
- Professional experience in CBAM and Turkish markets.
- Experience in team building and capacity building
General Qualifications
- Manage existing and new client relationships and business opportunities
- Originate and increase sales, develop business strategies, and present current trends and regulations to leadership and clients
- Anticipate client needs to provide recommendations for services and products
- Navigate global Carbon Markets and communicate innovative strategies to leadership to expand the market
- Increase environmental commodities sales by serving existing clients and developing new clients
- Provide excellent customer service and meet client’s needs in a timely manner
- Experience speaking and presenting at conferences
- Direct experience with environmental commodity programs and/or markets
- Experience in the development and creation of sustainability strategies
- Mentor teams for development on sustainability strategies
