The main responsibilities of a Business Development Manager (BDM) with a focus on partnerships and handling big cases in a fintech company revolve around identifying opportunities, cultivating relationships, and driving strategic growth initiatives.

  • Identifying and Building Strategic Partnerships
  • Sourcing Potential Partners: Identify and target new business partnerships that align with the company’s strategic goals
  • Nurturing Existing Relationships: Maintain and strengthen relationships with key partners to ensure long-term success and mutual growth
  • Evaluating Partnership Opportunities: Conduct due diligence and assess the financial and strategic value of potential partnerships
  • Managing Large-Scale Deals and Big Cases
  • Lead Negotiations for High-Value Deals: Negotiate terms, contracts, and partnership agreements with large-scale clients, ensuring favorable outcomes for the company
  • Client and Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for enterprise clients, managing expectations and ensuring satisfaction
  • Overseeing Deal Execution: Coordinate internal teams (legal, product, tech, compliance) to successfully implement and operationalize large deals
  • Strategic Growth and Market Expansion
  • Develop Business Development Strategies: Create and execute strategies to expand into new markets, industries, or regions through partnerships and big cases

  • Drive Revenue Growth: Develop strategies for acquiring new customers or increasing revenue from existing partnerships, often through joint ventures or collaborative product development
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Internal Coordination: Work closely with marketing, product development, legal, finance, and operations teams to ensure alignment on partnership strategies and deal execution
  • Reporting and Communication: Regularly report to senior leadership on the progress of partnerships, pipeline, and the impact on overall business goals
  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Address any operational or strategic issues that arise during the partnership lifecycle, ensuring smooth execution and mutual benefit
  • Performance Tracking and Optimization
  • KPIs and Performance Metrics: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for partnerships and large deals, ensuring they meet revenue, growth, and profitability goals
  • Partnership Optimization: Continuously seek ways to enhance the value of existing partnerships through new opportunities, service enhancements, or co-marketing initiatives
  • Compliance and Risk Management
  • Ensure Compliance: Work with the legal and compliance teams to ensure that all partnerships and deals meet regulatory requirements and company standards
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify and mitigate risks related to partnerships, including legal, financial, or operational risks
  • In summary, the BDM is going to play a pivotal role in driving growth by forging valuable partnerships, managing large-scale deals, and aligning internal and external resources for success in the competitive fintech market
  • Motivated, enthusiastic, and result-oriented individual with a strong work and business ethic
  • Minimum 3-5+ years of experience of working in an international B2B/B2C company and/or FinTech/High-risk industry company
  • Proven track record of handling large-scale deals with high-value clients, focusing on negotiation, closing, and relationship management
  • A team player who can collaborate effectively with other colleagues
  • A quick learner who can grasp new concepts and apply them quickly
  • Experience with CRM platforms as a user
  • A creative and resourceful problem solving skills
  • Readiness for new challenges with a strong can-do attitude
  • Fluency in English
  • Experience in building and managing strategic partnerships, especially with financial institutions, startups, or large enterprises
  • Deep understanding of fintech trends, technologies (blockchain, payments, AI, etc.), and key market players
  • Familiarity with regulations and compliance standards relevant to fintech (e.g., PSD2, AML, KYC)
  • Bachelor’s Degree: Preferably in Business, Finance, Economics, or related fields
  • MBA will be a plus
