Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 with realistic earning potential of £90,000+ in the first year, with the opportunity to double OTE over time.

Job Summary:
The company is seeking a dynamic and strategic Business Development Manager to drive growth within the legal sector, with a particular focus on smaller and mid-tier law firms, including firms outside of the top 50 in regions such as Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, and Bristol. This fully remote role involves networking, relationship building, and leveraging data solutions to meet clients’ growth and efficiency goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the legal market and will execute sales strategies aimed at expanding the company’s market share.
Business Development Manager (Legal Tech) – Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities, particularly within smaller and medium-sized law firms and regional legal markets.
- Develop and implement sales strategies that align with the company’s goals for strategic growth, including potential acquisition support for clients.
- Conduct market research on law firms’ needs for data-driven and SaaS solutions and leverage that insight to position the company’s offerings effectively.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at law firms, focusing on developing long-term partnerships.
- Understand the specific challenges and growth strategies of smaller law firms, tailoring the company’s SaaS data solutions to meet those needs.
- Manage the entire sales process from initial outreach to contract negotiation and closing, ensuring excellent client service and follow-up.
- Explore and penetrate new markets or regional segments in the legal industry that are underserved, leveraging a strategic growth mindset.
- Collaborate with the marketing and product teams to develop and execute go-to-market strategies for products that support law firms in preparing for strategic acquisitions and growth.
- Provide expertise in using the company’s data-driven solutions for legal firms, particularly around strategic decision-making.
- Monitor and report on sales performance, including pipeline development, forecasts, and achievement against targets, with a focus on regional growth.
- Keep senior management informed on emerging trends within the legal sector, especially regarding smaller and regional law firms.
- Work closely with internal teams, including product development, marketing, and customer support, to ensure client needs are consistently met and exceeded.
- Share feedback from clients to assist in product development and improvements, particularly for solutions targeted at mid-sized law firms and firms seeking growth through strategic acquisitions.
Business Development Manager (Legal Tech) – Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development or sales, preferably within the legal, SaaS, or technology sectors.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets, with a particular focus on growing business in regional legal markets and smaller law firms.
- In-depth understanding of the legal industry, particularly the dynamics of smaller to mid-sized law firms and their specific operational needs.
- Familiarity with SaaS solutions and how they can be used to drive strategic growth, improve operational efficiency, and prepare firms for acquisition or expansion.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to network and influence decision-makers.
- Strategic thinking with a focus on long-term business development and market expansion.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently, with a particular focus on regional business development.
