Job Summary:

Inov8ive Transport & Logistics, a leading provider of innovative and reliable transport solutions across Australia, is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will identify new business opportunities, develop strategic client relationships, and drive revenue growth by delivering tailored solutions to our clients across multiple sectors, including retail, food & beverage, construction, and general freight. This is a full-time remote role with the flexibility to work from home, but there is an expectation to visit clients as needed. Key Responsibilities:

Identify and Target New Business Opportunities:

  • Proactively research and identify prospective clients
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to acquire new customers and expand market share.
  • Leverage your expertise to position Inov8ive Transport & Logistics as the preferred partner for reliable, cost-effective transport solutions.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build, nurture, and maintain strong long-term relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Understand client needs, challenges, and operational goals, providing tailored solutions that exceed expectations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring seamless communication and exceptional service delivery.

Sales and Revenue Growth:

  • Drive the end-to-end sales process, from lead generation and pipeline management to negotiation and contract closure.
  • Conduct cold calling and outreach to generate prospective leads and build a strong sales pipeline.
  • Regularly update the CRM with client interactions, sales activities, and progress.
  • Meet and exceed revenue targets, KPIs, and sales goals through a consultative approach to business development.
  • Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities to maximise client value and profitability.

Market Research and Competitor Analysis:

  • Stay ahead of industry trends, market demands, and competitor activities within the transport and logistics sectors.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management, adjusting strategies to maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace.

Collaboration with Operations and Logistics Teams:

  • Partner with internal teams to ensure smooth execution of deliveries, transport schedules, and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate to optimise service offerings, delivery timelines, and operational efficiencies.

Presenting Proposals and Reports:

  • Develop and deliver compelling proposals, presentations, and reports that showcase Inov8ive Transport & Logistics’ unique value proposition and solutions.
  • Communicate effectively to influence client decision-making and secure new business opportunities.

Networking and Industry Engagement:

  • Attend relevant industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to increase brand visibility and foster meaningful connections.
  • Promote Inov8ive Transport & Logistics as a leader in innovative and reliable transport solutions.

Forecasting and Reporting:

  • Monitor and report on business development activities, sales performance, and key metrics.
  • Prepare regular updates for senior management with recommendations for growth opportunities.

Customer Feedback and Continuous Improvement:

  • Gather client feedback and collaborate with internal teams to continuously enhance service quality and address areas for improvement.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably within the transport or logistics sectors.
  • Strong understanding of transport processes and logistics operations.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, maintain, and grow long-term client relationships.
  • Results-driven with a strategic mindset and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Proficient in CRM tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales reporting systems.
  • A self-starter who thrives independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a client-first focus.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally within the transport or logistics industry.
