Purpose of the Role: To lead the sales and business development activities of the corporate & retail sector by proactively identifying and developing new clients/opportunities through a variety of strategies to achieve the growth and expansion of the group. The role is responsible for identifying leads, qualifying leads, developing strategies and leading the sales activities in securing the business. Activities include client engagement, supporting/leading solution development, supporting/leading bid management, maintaining strategies and utilising CRM as the ‘single place of truth’ for client and opportunity reporting.
Basic Requirements:
Typically five years of related business development work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who have not attained Tertiary or Post Graduate qualifications.
Complex technical sales experience
Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills to effectively determine target clientele and opportunities.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Collaborative leadership skills
Capable to work in team and solo situations
Skills and Experience
Tertiary or Post-Grad qualification in Business or Sales
Innovative and proactive in new ideas, segments and tenders
Advanced research and analytical skills.
Intermediate software skills in Microsoft Office. Proficiency with e-mail and mainframe systems required.
Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals.
Have good digital literacy to conduct relevant searches and use electronic databases
Be able to learn and discuss product and service information with customers
Be able to use various technologies and platforms associated with running the business

Accountable for supporting the growth of the Business Development
Demonstrated ownership of the target market measured by general knowledge of the clients in the sector
Demonstrated commitment to accept the responsibility of completing decision making for proposals and tenders whilst displaying Karmo values
100% on time submission rate within time, as promised delivery of proposals to negotiated clients.
Demonstrate relationship building and value adding throughout the year at all team meetings
All clients are to be visited, qualified and presented to
Demonstrate penetration with the client through a range of activities linked with associations, network contacts, sponsorship etc.
Ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
Contribute and participate in continuous improvement opportunities
Experience and capabilities to lead projects and people for successful rapid growth
Liaise with marketing team for supportive resources
Key Tasks
Leading opportunities that come to market which may be existing clients or select invitations to tender.
Leadership and involvement in the sales meetings and integrating with other departments
Manage the input into the production of proposals; these may include expressions of interest, tender documentation and preparation of presentations and support material.
To broadly leverage the strength of the group by liaising with appropriate colleagues (Marketing, Operations, Executive, etc) to highlight the forte of the business through national and international experience and skills.
To work with all internal, external and client stakeholders in an effort to build a solution that is “best in class” and provides maximum value through focusing on labour, process and technology innovation.
Actively manage the negotiation process in consultation with the relevant operational lead.
Complete all required reporting before due dates
Maintain CRM data to no older than one-week.
Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Support as requested mobilisation and/or operational activities for new leads
Actively seek opportunities to enhance company processes and implementation ideas for ongoing improvement of the company management system.
Open forumn with CRO for opportunities with stock and promotions
