C Quant Developer (Remote)

A leading high-frequency trading firm in the global cryptocurrency market is seeking to hire an experienced Algorithmic Developer to join their new business venture.

What the role involves:

This position offers the chance to develop trading strategies within the cryptocurrency markets. The firm is looking for someone to collaborate with a trader based in Asia, so candidates should be located in Asia or in a compatible timezone. Most work will be conducted remotely, allowing flexibility regarding exact locale. In general, responsibilities will include developing and supporting systems that trade on cryptocurrency exchanges globally.

Specific duties will include:

• Transforming trading opportunities into profits by improving and inventing trading and market-making strategies while managing risk and any market-making obligations. This includes overseeing the entire process: identifying problems, analyzing data, writing software, and providing ongoing support.
• Improving and developing systems for automated monitoring of 24/7/365 trading.
• Developing C++ and Python applications that utilize internally-developed, normalized interfaces for market data and order execution.
• Working with both existing codebases and new ones.
• Collaborating closely with others, as the business, development, and trading teams regularly work in concert.
• Monitoring trading, especially of new algorithms, and ensuring that systems are performing as expected from technical, risk, and profit perspectives.
• Utilizing experience working directly with trading teams to identify and surface opportunities for improving technical systems and architecture.
• Engaging with the team during system design discussions, code reviews, trading idea brainstorms, and general interactions.

Requirements:

• Experience in developing high-performance trading strategies for trading and especially market making in traditional or cryptocurrency markets.
• Familiarity with low latency trading algorithms, market making, and/or high-frequency arbitrage, including an understanding of risks associated with managing a portfolio.
• At least three years of experience developing clean, maintainable, and performant code in C++ on Linux.
• Experience with latency-optimized, distributed systems capable of robustly handling many transactions.
• Ability to balance delivering clean, testable, reliable code while rapidly deploying new system features to leverage market opportunities.
• A reliable individual who takes pride in delivering robust software and is willing to be on call to support the systems developed.

Highly Desirable:

• A thorough understanding of network programming, including UDP, TCP, TLS, and WebSockets.
• Experience profiling C++ code with tools such as Cachegrind, Valgrind, or other profiling tools.
• Experience configuring and monitoring Linux machines.
• Experience with inter-process messaging via shared memory.
• Familiarity with cloud computing infrastructure, such as AWS.
