Your First Task

• In our robot, STM32 microcontrollers handle time-critical and safety-critical control tasks and sensor readings. Your initial responsibility will be to write drivers for additional sensors. Next, you’ll define and implement various safety concepts to enable autonomous and secure navigation in care facilities.

• Minimalistic tooling: VS Codium, llvm/clang, make, and git—everything you need to kick off navel development.
• Feedback cycles are short; features are developed, reviewed, and merged within two weeks.
• We embrace open-source solutions and avoid reinventing the wheel, leveraging well-tested libraries whenever possible.

How the Robot Operates

• The heart of our robot is a Jetson AGX Xavier running a slim Linux system. It handles platform tasks such as processing camera data, communicating with microcontrollers, rendering eye and mouth graphics, and speech synthesis. The software, primarily written in C with CUDA and TensorRT, emphasizes structure and stability.

What You Bring

• Solid experience in C on microcontrollers, ideally STM32H7.
• Expertise in safety-critical software and relevant hardware features (WDT, self-tests, redundancies).
• Familiarity with ChibiOS or similar RTOS.
• Proficiency in embedded interfaces (UART, SPI, I²C) and hardware debugging tools.
• Eloquent handling of Linux, git, and make.
• Several years of experience in software projects with over 10k LOC and lean software architectures (KISS principles).
