About the Role:

The Category Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of category strategies and plans. They drive commercial and supply chain results to facilitate the effective procurement and oversight of goods and services. This role encompasses full-cycle procurement responsibilities (planning, sourcing, management), alongside delivering robust commercial contracts and overseeing supplier performance within their portfolio. Market analysis, cultivation of supplier relationships, and fostering relationships with organisational stakeholders are integral to optimising offerings. The Category Manager aims to ensure cost-effectiveness, adherence to governance standards, and alignment with sustainability and operational objectives. Leveraging market insights and fostering innovation, supporting the delivery of reliable, high-quality water services to the community.

About You:

• 5-10 years demonstrated experience in formulating the direction of and advice on category strategies and plans, end to end management of categories including sourcing, stakeholder and supplier management.
• Demonstrated experience in positioning and influence the value effective procurement and supply chain process can enhance the profitability, savings and efficiency of the organisation.
• Development and implementation of category strategies aligned with organisational business goals, leveraging market intelligence and industry insights.
• Management of supplier performance, driving continuous improvement and cost savings through effective negotiation and strategic sourcing. 
• Comprehensive knowledge and skills in applying spend management practices to ensure value for outcomes are achieved for the organisation such demand forecasting, pricing methods, category management.
