Key Responsibilities
- Conduct meticulous analysis of coding services, procedures, diagnoses, and treatments.
- Identify and address any billing issues arising from coding discrepancies.
- Code and bill accurately for vascular scans.
- Assign ICD-10 DX and CPT codes for outpatient surgical suite procedures.
- Assign ICD-10 DX and CPT codes for hospital consultations and surgical procedures.
- Review operative notes to guarantee precise coding for post-surgical consultations and charges.
- Undertake additional administrative tasks as required to support team objectives.
Required Skills
- At least 3 years of experience as a Certified Medical Coder, ideally in a hospital or a high-volume medical office.
- Demonstrated expertise in surgical and hospital outpatient coding.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring thorough and accurate work.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of an accredited medical coding program through AHIMA or AAPC is preferred.
- Current and active CPC or CCS certification.
- A solid understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
