Civil Design Engineer (Remote)

Job description / Role

DAR Engineering, a leading design & engineering consulting organization in Saudi Arabia engaged in Power Generation, Electrical Transmission & Distribution, Health Care & High Rise Buildings

Responsibilities:
– Read and study project specs in order to prepare Project’s scope, and list of documents and highlight the challenges to the Senior Engineer.
– Perform Civil design Analysis, calculations, drawings, and reports as per ACI standards and project requirements.
– Fully adhere to the company’s standard quality and ensure coordination with related inputs from electrical and mechanical teams.
– Review technical offers received from suppliers/subcontractors and report the technical comments to the Senior Engineer.
– Optimize construction cost and material estimates with the help of the approved economic designs.
– Use the latest software and codes to develop error free designs in most economical way within allotted timeline.
– Maintain organized and proper documentation system for civil designs.
– Consider Health and safety requirements when developing civil designs.
– Perform design changes and improvements according to project demands.
– Prepare proper replies to client’s comments with supporting evidence if needed. And make technical negotiations when needed.
– Provide assistance to design and construction teams.
– Work along side project management teams to successfully monitor progress and implementation of engineering initiatives
– Maintain Problem solving mentality, and provide on-site solutions and support to team members when needed.
– Follow checklists, engineering Excel sheets
– Share knowledge, information, and technical data when needed.
– Coordinate with other departments to align with technical modifications in the projects.

– Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
– 4-6 years of experience in Civil Design and Analysis of T&D projects and preferably with exposure in the Gulf Region.
– Proficiency in Civil design for substations from base design, detail design to IFC stages. Working knowledge on T&D functions w.r.t construction contractors in coordination with other engineering disciplines.
– Experience with STAAD Pro is a must.
– Have an experience in Civil Analysis program ( ETABS, SAP, SAFE, Prokon, IDEA Statica).
– Good communication skills, both in presentation and documentation with a command of English.
