GSE Solutions leverages five decades of proven industry experience and is searching for an experienced Civil/Structural Engineer.GSE Design & Analysis specializes in providing consulting engineering services to the nuclear utility industry and operating facilities, including studies, calculations, analysis, drawing revisions, etc.
Pay Range- $110,000 to $150,000 annually, DOE.

Essential Functions
- Plan, conceptualize and create designs for new products.
- Develop testing processes, and perform testing and validation of new designs.
- Perform engineering calculations to support design work, both manually and using computer software.
- Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors.
- Document project development and design process in detail.
- Visits clients to develop relationships, support project meetings, and develop new business opportunities. (In person and through video conferencing)
- Supports Project Manager/Controls in preparing scopes of work, budgets, and proposal schedules.
- Mentors less experienced engineers and consultants.
- Support other disciplines and responsible engineers in support of assigned duties.

- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft 365.
- Must be capable of obtaining unescorted access at nuclear plants and other facilities requiring background authorization.
Education & Experience
- BS Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- 5-10 years of experience in design engineering for a firm doing similar work as D&A supporting nuclear and industrial projects.
- Professional Engineers (PE) License preferred but not required, but must be willing to work towards PE License.
Physical Demands
- Occasional travel to industrial locations for walk-downs or design implementation support (PPE required, such as hard hats, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection).
- Some travel may involve working in a hot environments (e.g., outside, turbine building, etc.)
- Occasional travel to in a radiologically controlled area.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Working Conditions
- General office environment (remote work).
- Working environment is generally favorable.
- Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
- Ability to occasionally perform walk-downs at client locations (industrial, power plant, etc.).
- Ability to travel (estimated 10-15%).
