Client is specialist client-side construction consultancy based in SEQ. Their business model is currently focussed on embedding Project Managers into their clients’ own teams.
As result of couple of projects kicking off in the new year, they are looking to hire an experienced client-side project manager. Role is full function PM role delivering project end to end, for the in-house team at the asset owners address.
Your new role
The role is traditional capital works PM role. Working in-house for asset owner delivering projects. The difference mostly being around the clients’ expectations of the skill level of the project manager. They are paying for a high calibre consultant to come in and take care of the project, managing the technical details and the competing stakeholders’ positions to bring the project through to completion.
As such, the preference is for experienced project managers with excellent stakeholder skills, tat is able to represent the company well away from the office. Essentially managing the client without daily input from the leadership team.
The project likely multi-res of state government utility. However generally the company works aged care, , education, retail, aviation, defence, commercial, refurbishment and hospitality sectors.
What you’ll need to succeed
Ideal candidate would have tertiary qualification in construction management, architecture, engineering and quantity surveying and have broad experience in the sector. Suggest total experience 6 years plus and at have some, suggest 2-3 years as a minimum experience working in a project management role either in-house for asset owner in project delivery role or working for a consultancy acting on their behalf. If have experience of similar embedded or seconded role that would be a positive.
Candidates would need to have a confident, self-assured approach to help manage stakeholders and to deliver the projects.
What you’ll get in returnÂ
Client looking for an asap start for the suitable candidate. They are offering an interesting, challenging role in quality and growing employer. Salary is negotiable based on experience, but would suggest 130-150 plus super as a guide with some flexibility if required. Some WFH possible, but preference to be in office in either Brisbane or on the Gold coast.
