About the Role
The Clinical Account Specialist (CAS) will drive physician and patient identification, market development, and disease/ brand awareness within the assigned territory. The scope of the role includes Alimera Sciences Ophthalmologie GmbH, a subsidiary of ANI Pharmaceuticals, and working within Germany. Alimera Sciences Ophthalmologie GmbH is developing in an entrepreneurial environment that requires a high degree of flexibility for the task in the context of the company’s growth.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that the sales targets of the products allocated by ANI are met in the allocated territory using all relevant sales and marketing tools within budget
- Professional and independent planning, implementation and evaluation of customer visits with the help of the Salesforce Sales Management Tool
- Provision of complex medical and pharmacological information on our products and therapy concepts to regional specialists as part of the field service visits
- Preparation of sales and marketing planning of key accounts, including the creation of account plans and their further development
- Implementation of the local segmentation/targeting process as well as national marketing and sales strategies
- Regular surgical accompaniments and observations
- Establishment, development and maintenance of networks between regional doctors, opinion leaders and specialists in your field
- Identification of possible key opinion leaders in coordination with the medical team
- Independent organization and implementation of scientific training events together and in coordination with the medical team
- Implementation of training measures, early training and training units in the ophthalmological centers (clinic and private practice) incoordination and, if necessary, together with the medical team
- Participation (incl. booth support) in international/national congresses as well as regular training events
- Observation of the market, competitive activities, health policy trends, as well as market access understanding and use of knowledge in discussions with customers
- Implementation of individual customer strategies and coordination of concepts taking into account the corporate strategy and in compliance with AMG, HWG, EFPIA and AKG laws and guidelines
- Ensuring timely and careful reporting of adverse reactions or product complaints
- Cross-functional collaboration with marketing, medicine, market access and other departments
- If required, participation in specified company and customer project meetings
- Timely implementation of all prescribed training and education programs
- Active support for new employees during their induction
- Carrying out additional tasks by arrangement
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required. A degree natural sciences or economics is a plus.
- Certified pharmaceutical sales representative (m/f) according to § 75AMG
- Several years of experience in the pharmaceutical specialist field service (clinic & practice) as well as relevant sales experience
- Ideally, experience in ophthalmology or a comparable scientifically focused indication area as well as in complex structures such as clinics and networks
- Profound understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and drug reimbursement in Germany
- Very good communication skills, integrity, convincing personality and confident appearance in a medical environment
- High willingness to travel
- Successful networker and team player
- Strong goal orientation, self-motivation, the will to succeed and strong contacts with a pronounced customer orientation
- Good skills to develop innovative and creative solutions
- Entrepreneurial thinking and acting as well as negotiation skills with confidence in closing deals
- Confident appearance and presentation of scientific content (even in front of larger groups)
- Very good organizational skills
- Fluent in German, written and spoken English
- Experienced handling of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), as well as working with laptop and tablet computers
