About the role: 

We are currently seeking an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our multi-disciplinary Brisbane team in a Clinical Lead role. We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Practitioner that thrives on working independently and has the drive to help and grow a new team.  

  • Ability to understand comprehensive functional assessments and develop, deliver and monitor interventions and strategies around behaviours of concern exhibited by people with a disability. 
  • Provide Behaviour Support services that are timely, efficient and effective, ensuring they meet the goals identified by the participant and their families/carers. 
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate behaviour support relating to the participants needs in line with relevant legislative and ethical requirements. 
  • KPI’s are secondary to providing exceptional healthcare, however you will also understand their importance and consistently work towards achieving them

Requirements: 

  • Must meet suitability and have current registration with the Quality and Safeguards Commission as a behaviour support practitioner (either Core, Proficient, Advanced and/Specialist).  
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of behaviour support services to children, adolescents, and/or adults with disabilities displaying complex support needs (e.g. mental health diagnosis, health needs, complex trauma). 
  • A passion for assisting clients to reach their full potential. 
  • Proven ability to establish meaningful relationships with referrers such as support coordinators and other networks as well as being able to demonstrate and validate those sources. 
  • A high level of written and verbal communication skills, particularly in advocacy, mediation, negotiation and conflict resolution. 
  • Current driver’s licence and registered vehicle
