1. Objective of the assignment

CLIP (goclip.org // Creators Learn Intellectual Property) is a digital awareness platform that was launched in November 2023. CLIP empowers creators with a better understanding of how their creative industry works and what are their rights and responsibilities as creators. Currently focused on the music industry, CLIP will expand to cover other creative sectors.

The CLIP Content Production Lead plays a critical role in the development of CLIP content (i) creating new video content for our platform, (ii) organizing and managing the production of localized content by third-party video producers around the world, and (iii) providing support for CLIP activities.

This is a full-time role, requiring 40 hours per week.


2. Deliverables/services

The CLIP Content Production Lead provides expertise in all areas of CLIP’s content production chain. The incumbent’s ultimate responsibility is to deliver a continuous stream of content (videos, graphics) that is aligned with CLIP and appealing to creators.

A. Produce and edit content for CLIP, including:

a. Video
i. Production guidelines to set style and quality standards for CLIP video content to be shared with third party video producers
ii. Produce video content, including scripting, filming, editing (for example, promotional, educational and fundraising videos)
iii. Coordinate the translation of subtitles to all CLIP languages

b. Audio
i. Record audio, most often for talking heads videos, but occasionally for more challenging settings such as filming small live acoustic performances, filming in windy or noisy outdoor conditions, etc.

c. Graphics
i. When relevant, create graphics and short animations, such as for intro/outro of videos, transitions or brief illustrative segments within the video, for promotional material or other purposes.

B. Manage third-party production of content

a. Build a network of independent film producers around the world (individuals and small production companies) to produce short video content for CLIP.
b. Create specifications for video and audio production that are simple enough to be used by the CLIP network of producers and that capture the essence of what is needed for a brand-coherent overall quality and style.
c. Develop, implement and document a sustainable strategy and workflow for managing the production of videos by this network of independent film producers.
d. Liaise with, manage and direct the third-party producers to obtain the coherent production and delivery of footage

C. Diligently own the administrative responsibilities of content production, including:

a. Working closely with colleagues to establish and keep current a closely production calendar.
b. Maintaining a well-organized and documented / credited content archive
c. Obtaining and archiving all necessary release forms

D. Assist in the development and maintenance of other content formats, including:
a. Formats optimized for social media
b. Content for presentations tuned for different types of stakeholders, audiences, contexts, etc.


3. Reporting

The incumbent works in the Copyright Management Division under the supervision of the Senior Product and Project Manager, WIPO for Creators.


4. Profile

Education

Essential:

  • First-level university degree in Film Production or related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience

Essential:

  • Experience with hands-on creating and editing professional video content.
  • Experience managing production schedules.
Desirable:

  • Experience with a variety of roles in film production.
  • Experience in corporate content production
  • Experience working with multilingual content

Languages

Essential: Strong spoken and written knowledge of English.
Desirable: Working knowledge of French, Spanish, Chinese, Russian, or Arabic.

5. Duration of contact and payment

The contract will start on February 3, 2025, and will end on December 31, 2025.
