Position OverviewAs a Cloud DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and operational workflows that enable the efficient deployment and management of applications and services in cloud environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of cloud-based systems, while leveraging automation and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Your expertise in cloud platforms, infrastructure-as-code (IaC), and DevOps principles will be critical in driving efficient and effective cloud operations.
Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure Design and Deployment:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable cloud-based infrastructure architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools.
- Configure and optimize cloud services such as virtual machines, containers, load balancers, and auto-scaling groups to meet application requirements.
- Collaborate with development teams to establish deployment pipelines and enable continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
Automation And Configuration Management
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment, provisioning, and monitoring processes.
- Utilize configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) to ensure consistency and manage infrastructure configuration changes.
- Implement infrastructure monitoring and logging solutions to enable proactive identification and resolution of operational issues.
System And Application Monitoring
- Set up and maintain monitoring systems to track infrastructure and application performance metrics, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Respond to system alerts and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, working closely with relevant teams to resolve issues promptly.
- Implement incident response processes and participate in on-call rotations to provide timely support and minimize service disruptions.
Security And Compliance
- Implement and enforce security best practices, including access control, data encryption, and vulnerability management, in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
Collaboration And Documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and network engineers, to optimize cloud infrastructure and application performance.
- Document infrastructure configurations, deployment processes, and troubleshooting guides to ensure knowledge sharing and maintain a comprehensive repository of operational procedures.
- Stay up to date with emerging cloud technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and evaluate their potential impact on the organization’s infrastructure and operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field or 4+ years of professional experience
- 2+ years of hands-on development experience in an object-oriented programming language or similar.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS(must have), Azure, or Google Cloud, including infrastructure provisioning, networking, and security.
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration frameworks like Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation and tool development.
- Understanding of DevOps principles and experience implementing GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in cloud-based environments.
- Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security controls in cloud infrastructure.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef is a plus.
- Relevant certifications, such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Azure DevOps Engineer, are a plus.
