Commercial Lines Insurance Underwriter Wfh (Remote)

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Commercial Insurance Underwriter to become a valuable member of our team. This role is primarily remote, although we prefer candidates situated in Florida or other Gulf Coast or Eastern Seaboard states.

As a Commercial Insurance Underwriter, you will report to the Underwriting Operations Manager and play a crucial role in assessing new business submissions, determining eligibility, and evaluating applications to analyze the acceptability of risk. Your insights will be instrumental in the decision-making process regarding coverage options, including identifying the need for additional information and determining account acceptance or declination in collaboration with the Underwriting Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Review initial submissions from prospective insureds and agents.
• Prepare quotes and maintain ongoing communication with the insured/agent until the policy is finalized or it is decided not to proceed.
• Price and rate new submissions in accordance with established guidelines and work closely with the Underwriting Operations Manager.
• Cultivate strong relationships with insureds and agents to enhance service delivery.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to all stakeholders.
• Contribute to the attainment and maintenance of production goals.
• Assist Underwriting Assistants with tasks such as reviewing endorsement requests and ensuring bind request accuracy.
• Support Renewal Underwriters with tasks including renewal evaluations and bind request reviews as needed.
• Execute various administrative tasks as required.

Required Skills

• 3-5 years of experience in commercial insurance underwriting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organization.
• A college degree is preferred, but not mandatory.
