Job Overview
We are in search of a seasoned Commercial Project Division (CPD) Manager to spearhead operations within the USA and Canada for a leading construction systems organization. This remote role offers flexibility in location, with the requirement of proximity to a commercial airport. Joining our team means collaborating with a market frontrunner known for its premium shower systems and backer board solutions, dedicated to innovative and tailored tiled environments for commercial purposes. This pivotal position reports directly to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing and entails travel of up to 30%, including occasional overnight stays and participation in training events and meetings across various locations, including our headquarters in Batavia, Illinois.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the growth of the Commercial Project Division (CPD) by collaborating with the Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Regional Sales Managers, and Technical Sales Support Managers to devise targeted sales strategies and architectural plans.
- Advocate for our products among architects, designers, contractors, and other key stakeholders to broaden project specifications and ensure seamless implementation.
- Formulate educational initiatives for architects, contractors, and subcontractors to nurture enduring relationships and foster ongoing product specifications.
- Serve as the primary liaison for architectural and engineering partners, assisting them with the support of field sales representatives, providing educational resources, and ensuring updated architectural documentation.
- Leverage expertise in waterproofing and tile backer applications to secure product specifications and conduct informative presentations and CEU events to solidify project specifications.
- Deliver precise project estimates by determining necessary product types and quantities, presenting quotes to distributors, architects, and contractors, and meticulously tracking project progress.
- Collaborate closely with our distributor network, providing them with regular training on product knowledge and sales strategies to enhance market outreach.
- Manage customer database effectively using lead tracking software and CRM systems to identify and nurture project opportunities, while offering weekly progress reports.
- Represent the organization at significant industry events, contributing to the design of impactful promotional materials, including displays and print advertisements.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated experience (3-5 years) in outside or architectural sales, with a proven track record in supervisory roles.
- Strong leadership capabilities, complemented by experience in managing architectural sales teams.
- In-depth technical knowledge of architectural specifications and construction design elements, particularly in relation to building or flooring products.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a persuasive demeanor and the capacity to build rapport with diverse groups.
- Superior organizational talents, alongside analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, and various online tools.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% and possess a valid driver’s license.
- Physical capability to sit, stand, and occasionally lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree (4 years) or higher in a relevant field is required.
